Strength and Conditioning

This program delivers a comprehensive Strength & Conditioning experience designed to develop well-rounded athletes and enhance overall physical performance. Sessions incorporate a structured combination of High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), circuit-based training, plyometric development, and targeted running blocks to create a challenging and engaging training environment.

Each component of the program has been carefully selected to improve the key physical attributes required for athletic success across both training and competition. Athletes will be challenged through progressive, sport-specific conditioning methods that focus on building strength, improving movement efficiency, and increasing overall work capacity.

 

 

Skill Development 

Skill Development Workshops
Our Skill Development Workshops are specifically designed to accelerate athlete growth through high-quality AFL coaching, structured skill progression, and individualised feedback. These sessions provide athletes with the opportunity to develop and refine the technical fundamentals of the game in a professional, high-performance learning environment.

The program focuses on delivering purposeful, game-relevant training that challenges athletes to improve both their execution and decision-making under pressure. Each session is carefully structured to ensure players are exposed to drills and scenarios that replicate the physical and mental demands of competitive AFL.

Through expert coaching and detailed skill analysis, athletes will gain a greater understanding of their strengths while identifying key areas for improvement. Our goal is to build well-rounded footballers who can perform with confidence, consistency, and composure in all phases of the game.

Key Areas of Development

Disposal Efficiency
Athletes will focus on improving both kicking and handball execution on their dominant and non-dominant sides. Emphasis is placed on technique, accuracy, decision-making, and maintaining skill execution under pressure.

Aerial Contest
Sessions will develop body positioning, timing, reading the flight of the ball, and marking confidence in contested and uncontested aerial situations.

Ground Ball Work
Players will refine clean ball handling, first-touch efficiency, reaction speed, and composure in high-pressure contested environments.

Strength Over the Football
Athletes will develop greater body control, physical presence, and contest strength to improve their ability to win one-on-one battles and maintain control in contested situations.

Tackling & Defensive Pressure
Training will focus on correct tackling technique, body positioning, defensive intent, and applying effective pressure to impact contests and turnovers.
Our Skill Development Workshops are designed to create confident, resilient, and highly skilled athletes by building strong AFL fundamentals and preparing players to perform at their highest level in both training and competition.

 

 

 

Game Simulation

We look to roll days 1 & 2 into game simulation on Friday. We achieve this by focusing on ball movement, running patterns, role playing and execution of team structures. We provide young footballers with an understanding of both offensive and defensive aspects of the game.

This is executed with small sided games with each team being provided with a set of instructions throughout the game simulation

 

 

Frequently Asked Questions

What age groups do you cater to?

Our Program is offered to aspiring footballers aged from 11 to 25 years of age. We cater for all abilities and skill levels. The program can be adjusted based on the individuals needs.

How do we register for the program?

To register you will need to download the Heja app. We provide you with a code to the Off-season program and you can register from there.

What is the duration of your programs?

The program runs for 6 weeks with it consisting of 3 X 90 minute sessions per week. The componennts of each session are, Strength & Conditioning, Skill development & game simulation.
